Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,

The Summer Term is here and everybody is settling back to what will hopefully be a prolonged period of regular uninterrupted schooling! I think having the whole school back for a fortnight before Easter was valuable, meaning we could all carry on where we left off quickly now that we are back. I foresee an industrious period ahead for our pupils as we head towards the summer. I am sure they will respond with effort and enthusiasm to the high expectations we have of them!

Mae Tymor yr Haf yma ac mae pawb yn setlo’n ôl i’r hyn a fydd, gobeithio, yn gyfnod hir o addysg ddi-dor reolaidd! Rwy’n credu bod cael yr ysgol gyfan yn ôl am bythefnos cyn y Pasg wedi bod yn werthfawr, gan olygu y gallem i gyd gario ymlaen yn sydyn gan ein bod yn ôl. Rwy’n rhagweld cyfnod gweithgar o’n blaenau i’n disgyblion wrth i ni anelu tuag at yr haf. Rwy’n siŵr y byddant yn ymateb gydag ymdrech a brwdfrydedd i’r disgwyliadau uchel sydd gennym ohonynt!

Book Bingo – I have been asked to remind the children to return their forms/details to the Library by April 17 to be entered in the Book Bingo prize draw. It was pleasing to see many of our pupils share details of their visits to the library on Twitter over the holidays.

Parking – In order to ensure a safe and orderly flow of traffic in the car park, please ensure that the following takes place on arrival and departure from school:
• When leaving the car park following drop off or pickup, please turn left at the junction in order to avoid congestion.
• Please ensure you drive through the correct gates – the IN and OUT gates are clearly marked.
• Please do not park in the pick-up/drop off zone – this again causes congestion. If you need to leave your car, please use a parking space.
• Please do not park on any pavements, as they again cause congestions, are obstructive and very dangerous.
Many thanks for your anticipated cooperation.

Congratulations to Giggles Staff – Congratulations to Gemma who won the best photographer award that she was nominated for and also to Mali for passing her childcare exam.

School Rugby Sessions – Sessions in school on Tuesdays will be as follows: April 20th – Years 1&2, April 27th – Years 3&4, May 11th – Years 5&6.

Music Lessons – Face to face music lessons have resumed this week. The timetable is the same, so please ensure your child has their music books, instruments, drumsticks etc. on the day of their lesson. Many thanks.

Missing Coat
– Ben has mislaid a ‘Fat Face’ coat. If you have seen it, please let the office know.

Students of the Week – Well done to Auraya, Nancy, Chima, Rayne, Hannah, Katelyn, Poppy, Charly, Aidan, Jenson, Luca, Miley, ConnieT and ConnieD for being awarded Student of the Week.

Holiday Absence
– Now that restrictions are being lifted, I am aware that some families are making requests for holiday absence. While I fully understand the reasons behind and potential benefits of spending a few days away following lockdown, I wanted to take the opportunity to reiterate Denbighshire Local Authority’s policy on attendance, being that any holiday absences taken will be coded as ‘unauthorised’ on the attendance register as a matter of protocol. If you wish to make a request for holiday absence, notification forms are available via the office following a discussion with myself.

Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,

Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth
