Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,

Outdoor Resources – It was such a pleasure for me to share with our pupils in our online assembly this morning, the news that we have placed an order for the first phase of outdoor equipment. The first area that will benefit is adjacent to the Junior yards, while we wait for the Infant playground to be installed. An installation date of June has been promised for a low-level Jungle Climber, a climbing wall, a timber cabin and three benches which can also store outdoor resources. Additionally, an outdoor timber shelter has been purchased for the Infants’ outdoor classroom. Following the installation of the Infant yard, further purchases will be made for the grassed area that remains and I will update you further once those details are finalised. The wonderful contributions of the school community via the PTA activities have been very much appreciated and we’ve also built up and put aside other funds over the last couple of years to make this large investment, in order for this work to proceed. Thank you to everybody who played their part!

May Day Bank Holiday – Please be reminded that school will be closed on Monday, May 3rd for the Bank Holiday and Tuesday, May 4th for a staff training day.

Charlie Caton – We are keeping a close eye on the footballing progress of ex-pupil and son of staff member Leanne at Shrewsbury Town. He made his full league debut last weekend, coming on as a substitute for the League One club, so huge congratulations to him and his proud parents. Hopefully he will be given further opportunities before the end of the season!

Congratulations – Congratulations to Maree Morgan. Over the last couple of years, she has worked with us on a placement and is now a fully qualified counsellor, achieved with distinction. Very well deserved!

Living Classroom – With the weather being so glorious, seeing the pupils of Year 5 off trooping down to The Living Classroom for some outdoor learning was a pleasure. I am sure there will be photos on Twitter later on, highlighting what they’ve been up to!

Twitter – Take a look at Twitter to see photos of Nursery’s mini-beast artwork, Reception activities, some lovely outdoor activities in Years 1 and 2 and outdoor pictogram work in Year 3. Remember to give @rhosstreet a follow for the latest news and pictures, if you’re yet to do so already.

Students of the Week – A huge well done to our Students of the Week – Alice, HarryC, Eden, Eliza, Belle, Jacob, Leila, Maisie, Isla, Teddy, Daisy, Jay, Mia Rose, Scarlet, Amelia, Seren, Amelie, Leighton, Willow, Bella, Anna and Brodie.

Music Lessons – Bills for music lessons have now been updated on Parent Pay for our musicians. I’d also be grateful if any unpaid bills from earlier in the year could also be settled. Many thanks.

Have a lovely sunny weekend. May your barbecues sizzle!

Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,

Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth
