Media Stars! – Ruby and Jocelyn both did fantastically well this week on BBC Radio and S4C respectively, talking about our Shoctober campaign. This coverage has really promoted the video which has now been seen thousands of times. Take a look at our Just Giving page with full details of the initiative and its background and of course an opportunity for any donations to be given. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=rhosstreetschool&isTeam=true

Last Week’s Achievers

Students of the week were: Azam, Isabella, Noah, Holly, Isaac, Megan, Joseph, Kaden, Oliver, Caitlin, Lottie and Flo. Welsh awards: Molly, Iwan, Jos, Alex, Josh. Swimming: Charlie. Tae Kwon-do: Evie and Thomas and Rugby to Elliot. Well done to all!

Sinfonia – Three pupils played in a very special concert in St. Asaph last weekend. Steffi, Illy and Lottie played Vaughan Williams Concerto Grossa and later got to meet Ye-En Choi, who was a soloist on stage.

Family Service – Year 6’s Family Service has been rescheduled for October 18th.

Jamboree – The Foundation Phase are very much looking forward to attending the annual Jamboree at Ysgol Brynhyfryd on Monday. They’ll be singing those Welsh songs with enthusiasm.

Harvest – Once again we will be holding our Harvest Festival Service at St Peter’s Church. It will take place on Friday October 13th at 9.30am. We will be practising in church on the Thursday morning at 9.30am. On both occasions, we would be grateful of parental help in walking the children to St. Peter’s Church and back. On both mornings, we will leave school at 9.15pm. We are also collecting food donations for the Ruthin Food Bank, so would be grateful if they could be brought to school on the Thursday morning. Please let your child’s class teacher know if you are willing to help walk the children.

Cross Country – This takes place after school next Thursday. A separate letter will be sent home to interested competitors.

PTA – Please see the attached posters regarding two forthcoming events; the Halloween Disco and the Auction of Promises.

Medical Forms – Medical Forms have been sent home for you to fill and sign. Please sign and return them even if your child has no medical needs that we need to be made aware of. Many thanks.

Sickness Bugs – While we always promote, encourage and praise good attendance, may I also remind you of the need to keep your child off school for 48 hours after vomiting. Many thanks.

Procedures for speaking to teaching staff – As you are aware, we have an open door policy and are happy to speak to parents about any issues to do with the pupils whenever convenient. However, may I ask that parents do not go directly into classrooms unannounced to speak with teachers in the mornings. If there is a reason that you need to speak to a teacher, please either approach one of the Breakfast Club staff, call in at reception or see Mrs Liddy downstairs to see if it is convenient for you to be speak with a staff member and we can arrange for you to be seen promptly, if your child’s class teacher is available.

North East Wales Rugby – Congratulations to Reuben, Raif and Matthew, who after attending trials, have been selected for the North East Wales Rugby squad. A fine achievement!
