Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
Autumn properly kicks in next week as we celebrate Harvest in church. We also have our Cross Country event in Llanfwrog and Year 6 will have their Bikeability sessions. Another busy week comes to an end and I know there will be lots of photos posted on twitter later, adding to the news in this letter.
Bydd yr Hydref yn cychwyn o ddifrif yr wythnos nesaf, wrth i ni ddathlu Diolchgarwch yn yr eglwys. Hefyd mae gennym y Traws Gwlad yn Llanfwrog a bydd Blwyddyn 6 yn cael eu sesiynau Bikeability. Daw wythnos brysur arall i ben a dwi’n gwybod y bydd llawer o luniau wedi eu gosod ar twitter a fydd yn ychwanegu at y newyddion yn y llythyr yma.
Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,
Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth
School Council – Our School Council met with Pen Barras again this week. Pupils from all years contributed to discussions and suggested a poster competition promoting the positive relationship between the schools as they mix teams to play on the MUGA. Next on the agenda is reading groups and our pupils also invited PB to join them in forthcoming activities as part of Anti-Bullying week in November. Thank you to Evie and Xander for updating the whole school in today’s assembly.
Pupil Information Sheets – Schools have been instructed by Denbighshire County Council to verify all parental / child details in order to ensure all records are up to date. We are sending home sheets for you to all fill and send back to school. Your co-operation in returning them speedily will enable us to complete this task quickly. Many thanks.
Vaccination Forms – Could all consent forms for flu immunisations, be returned by next Tuesday please? Thank you.
Cross Country – This takes place next Thursday evening after school at the Tennis Club, Llanfwrog. A separate letter will provide further details.
Welcome Miss Price – Miss Price joined us this week in Year 4. It’s been a pleasure to welcome her onto the team.
PC Heledd – PC Heledd visited all classes in the Juniors this week, in her role as School Liaison Officer.
Urdd Girls’ Football – Our girls’ team certainly did themselves proud yesterday. The won two and drew one of their six games and played with guts and lots of effort. Their behaviour was exemplary and their enthusiasm infectious. Well done to each and every one of them.
Achievers – Students of the Week are Claire, Louis, Liam, Barkley, Illiana, Melissa, William, Teddy and RubyJ. Welsh awards went to Sophie, Cai and Alexandros. Oscar received a gymnastics certificate and Fletcher a football medal for scoring lots of goals against Wrexham, which was really pleasing for me personally!
Harvest – Once again we will be holding our Harvest Festival Service at St Peter’s Church. It will take place on Friday October 12th at 9.45am. We will be practising in church on the Thursday morning at 9.45am. On both occasions, we would be grateful of parental help in walking the children to St. Peter’s Church and back. On both mornings, we will leave school at 9.15pm. We are also collecting food donations for the Ruthin Food Bank, so would be grateful if they could be brought to school on the Thursday morning. Please let your child’s class teacher know if you are willing to help walk the children.
Parking – If you are parking in residential areas when you drop off your children, please park thoughtfully and help us keep relations positive with our new neighbours. Many thanks.
PTA Halloween Disco – Please see the attached poster regarding this forthcoming event. Thank you to Sarah Longhurst for the design!
