Dear Parents / Carers,
Black Friday is here, so I’m sure Xmas shopping is at the forefront of most thoughts at the moment. The Xmas cogs are turning here in school, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. Year 4 have their visit to Pentre next week and Year 5 had a great day in Brynhyfryd, so there’s been excitement all round!
Annwyl Rieni / Gwarchodwyr,
Mae ‘Black Friday’ yma, felly bydd siopa ‘Dolig yn flaenllaw ar feddyliau. Mae olwynion Nadoligaidd yn troi yma yn yr ysgol ac mae tripiau Blwyddyn 4 i Bentre a Blwyddyn 5 i Frynhyfryd wedi ychwanegu at y cynnwrf.
Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,
Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth

Achievers – Students of the Week are Charlie, Lilly, Beau, Kaden, Daniel, Ffion, TylerW, Iwan, Billy and Molly. Welsh Awards went to Alex and Caitlin. Cadie had a Rainbows certificate and Molly gymnastics awards. Finally, Kian received a Karate certificate and belt. Well done to all of them!
Giggles – If you quote Giggles at www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ then you’ll be able to raise money for our pre-school group via your Xmas shopping. Thank you.
Health and Safety Issues – A couple of issues have been brought to my attention. Firstly, can I ask parents not to use the staff car park to drop off the children in the mornings as Pen Barras children access the canteens before school and the increased traffic adds the risk to their welfare. Additionally, could all Infant pupils be walked into the building and upstairs to attend Breakfast Club. Many thanks.
Xmas Choir – Please refer to the letter sent out this week for details of our choir performance in the run up to Xmas. The more the merrier!
Pentrellyncymer – Good luck to Year 4 in Pentre next week. Fingers are crossed for dry weather. Keep an eye on twitter for updates!

Entrepeneurship – Each class has been planning and costing a financial project to make a profit. The entrepreneurs in Year 4 have had a special production line running this week, preparing goods to be put on sale in the PTA Xmas Fair on December 8th. I look forward to see what each class has to sell on the day!

Brynhyfryd Year 5 Transition Visit – Year 5 had a great day yesterday at the art and technology departments of Ysgol Brynhyfryd in a transition project which has been launched by the Secondary School in conjunction with the Feeder Primaries. They said, “Thank you very much to you, your staff and students. The pupils were fantastic and were a credit to your school and I hope they enjoyed the activities.” We are grateful to Ysgol Brynhyfryd for providing this opportunity.
