Dear Parents / Carers,

The preparations are afoot for Christmas and I have included a list of dates for your attention below. I’m sure it will prove to be an exciting and magical period once again. There are of course other activities planned for the five remaining weeks in school before we break up and those are also noted. The best and busiest time of year is upon us once again!

Annwyl Rieni / Gwarchodwyr,

Mae paratoadau Nadolig wedi cychwyn a rwyf wedi cynnwys rhestr o ddyddiadau er mwyn eich sylw. Dwi’n siwr y bydd yn amser cyffrous a hudol unwaith eto. Wrth gwrs, mae gweithgareddau eraill wedi’w trefnu ac mae rheini wedi’w nodi hefyd. Mae’r amser gorau a prysuraf o’r flwyddyn wedi cyrraedd unwaith eto!

Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,

Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth

Children in Need – The school has been a colourful, spotty and stripy place today as part of Children in Need. Thank you for the cake donations and also thank you to the School Council for organising all the activities. I’m sure a healthy sum of money has been raised.

Urdd Membership – It is time for pupils to pay Urdd membership, if they wish to take advantage of the reduced rate. Pupils who send in the subscription fee before December 1st will pay the cheaper rate of £7 for the academic year. Mrs Lewis has sent a letter to choir and dance group members today to request those pupils’ payments. Other Eisteddfod activities will commence early in the New Year.

Year 5 Family Service – Year 5’s Family Service will now be held on December 1st at 9am. Parents and relatives welcome.

Anti Bullying Week – This national initiative takes place this week and the school council have been instrumental in organising and delivering activities to Infants and Juniors today. Again, a huge thank you to them and Miss Davies for their work. They have also filmed a special video with a strong anti-bullying message which was shared with the school in today’s assembly. It was very impressive.

Christmas Rock Choir – We are going to be singing carols and songs in the run up to Christmas once again. I hope we will have an enthusiastic group of singers once again and dates for the various activities are noted below.

Thank You – A huge thank you to Chester Football Club for the kind donation of a box of match programmes for us to share with the children. What a great club!

Year 5 Transition Activity – Please see the letter sent home regarding next week’s transition activity. Year 5 pupils will require a packed lunch on that day.

Achievers – Students of the Week were Alfred, Jacob, Charlotte, Megan, Ben, Connie, Casi, Sophie and Finlay. Welsh awards went to Leo, Deiniol and Billy.
