Updated Contact & Medical Information
Can I please request that parents and carers update any contact details with us, if required, as it is extremely important that we hold the most up to date contact information for each pupil. Many I also request that any medical information, food intolerances / dietary requirements or allergy information are updated with us in school, including informing us if medication is no longer required, to ensure that we are able to offer the best care that we can in school. Contact information can be updated by email at office@ysgolrhosstreet.cymru or by telephoning the school office. Medical information can be updated by completing the very short, medical form, also available in the school office. Many thanks.
Uniform
We’re pleased to let families know that we have a large selection of pre-loved school uniform available in the school foyer. These items are free of charge and can be taken by any parent or carer. Choosing pre-loved uniform offers both environmental benefits—by reducing waste—and financial support, helping families manage costs more easily. We encourage everyone to make use of this resource.
Please can I request that all items of school uniform, and other belongings, are clearly named to help us return any lost property to the correct child.
Make Some Noise! – Inspiring Musical Moments at Rhos Street
This morning, pupils in Years 2 to 6 enjoyed a fantastic performance by the Denbighshire Music Cooperative’s “Make Some Noise” show. The event showcased a wide range of musical instruments that children can learn to play in school—from strings and brass to woodwind and percussion. The show was a brilliant opportunity to spark interest and excitement in music, and we hope it has inspired many of our pupils to consider learning an instrument.
Interested in lessons?
Forms are available from the school office if you would like your child to begin instrumental tuition.

New Meeting Request Form – Supporting Communication
To help us respond to queries and concerns as effectively as possible, we’ve introduced a Meeting Request Form, available from the school office.
This form allows parents and carers to outline the nature of their query, which helps us ensure it is directed to the most appropriate member of staff and addressed in a timely and supportive manner.

The Importance of Good Attendance and Punctuality
At Rhos Street CP School, we place great value on regular attendance and punctuality, as they are key to helping children thrive both academically and socially.
Being in school every day and on time:
• Ensures children don’t miss out on vital learning and classroom activities.
• Helps build routines, confidence, and friendships.
• Encourages a strong work ethic and responsibility from an early age.
Even small amounts of missed time can add up and impact progress. We understand that illness and emergencies happen, but we ask all families to make every effort to ensure children arrive on time and attend daily.
If you ever need support with attendance or punctuality, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re here to help.

Weekly Wellbeing
This week’s quote is from Shunryu Suzuki (1904–1971) a Japanese Zen monk and teacher who played a pivotal role in introducing Zen Buddhism to the United States. He founded the San Francisco Zen Center and authored the influential book Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind, which remains a cornerstone of Western Zen practice. Suzuki emphasized the importance of approaching life with openness, curiosity, and humility—qualities embodied in the concept of the “beginner’s mind.”
“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s, there are few.”
Shunryu Suzuki
