Mai 25ain / May 25th

Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,

The half-term holiday is upon us and the weather, my secret obsession, is looking good for the week. I hope you all have a lovely week and get to spend some time doing what you enjoy. Just a quick reminder that the there is a teacher-training day scheduled for June 5th, so children will be due back in school on June 6th.

Outstanding Payments
Can I please request that any outstanding monies are paid to school as soon as possible. Please speak, in confidence, to our administration team if you have any questions regarding outstanding payments or would like to arrange an installment plan. Outstanding payments may lead to your child being unable to participate in some activities or provision in the future.

Free School Meals
If you are eligible to receive Free School Meals, because you receive a qualifying benefit, Denbighshire County Council recommend that you apply for Free School Meals as you will then also be eligible for the school uniform and equipment grant.

You can claim free school meals for your child if you receive any of the following:

• Income Support
• Job Seekers Allowance; Income Based
• Employment and Support Allowance; Income Related

Planter
A huge thank you to Mrs. Davies and the gardening club for planting out our planter at the entrance to the school. We have noticed on or two little footprints in this soil from time to time, so I’m really hoping that the addition of these lovely, colorful plants will act as a discouragement to out small-footed adventurers as well as bringing some wonderful colour to our school.

Kick-It Sports
Chris, from Kick-It Sports came in this week to speak to the children about the half-term sports sessions on Tuesday 30th May at Rhos St. The cost for the day, 9.00am – 2.00pm, is £18.

Air-Ambulance Day

Emi-Lee, in the Yr. 6 class, and her group of fundraisers, gave a brilliant presentation this morning all about our forthcoming Air-Ambulance fundraising day on June 9th. We are requesting a donation of £1 for pupils to come dressed in red, or own clothes. There will also be fun games, organised by the pupils, in the hall for 20p per go. It is wonderful to see the power that Rhos St’s Pupil Voice can have in making positive change. A big thank you to Emi-Lee and her team.

Achievers
This week’s achievers are: Mia-Rose, Meredith, Aiden, Leo, Tahapenes, Sophia, Omran, Orfan and Hannah.
Raphael represented the whole Reception class, awarded for their brilliant dinosaur family service and Liam shared his triathlon medal.
We also bid a fond farewell to Aurora and Sylvia who had their last day with us at Rhos St today, we wish them all the best for their future adventures, we will miss them. Well done to all our brilliant achievers this week.

Yours sincerely, / Yn gywir,

Andrew Davis, Headteacher / Pennaeth
