Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
Despite an unseasonably chilly week, it certainly hasn’t dampened our spirits here at school. There has been a wonderful buzz across all classes, from our DMC pupils enjoying their first experiences in music lessons to our Reception children leading a warm and welcoming family service. We are also preparing for personalised assessments taking place next week, and staff and pupils alike have been working hard to ensure everyone is ready to shine. As we head into the weekend, we hope the weather turns a little kinder and that everyone has the chance to enjoy some well-deserved sunshine.

Yr. 6 Dragon’s Den
Our Year 6 pupils are excited to present their very own Dragon’s Den event on Thursday 21st.
They have been busy designing, creating and refining a range of fantastic drinks, which they can’t wait to share. Junior children are warmly invited to take part by bringing £1 along to sample the different offerings and support our budding entrepreneurs. It promises to be a fun and flavour-filled experience for everyone involved.
Yr. 1 Parents’ Drop-In Session
Due to the earlier disruption to parental consultation arrangements, Miss Roberts will be offering a drop-in session for Year 1 parents and carers on Monday 1st June, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
No appointment is necessary—please feel free to come along to speak with the teacher and take the opportunity to look at your child’s work. Please note that at busier times, discussions may need to be kept brief to allow everyone the chance to attend.
Yr. 3 First Experiences in Music
This week, pupils continued the series of music sessions in partnership with the Denbighshire Music Cooperative. We were delighted to welcome Johnny, who led the session with an energetic focus on drumming. The children were fully engaged and thoroughly enjoyed this lively session, and we look forward to seeing their confidence and musical skills develop over the coming weeks.

Arrrrr, It Be the Reception Class Family Service
Our Reception class delighted families this morning with their wonderful family service, themed around pirates. The children sang beautifully, spoke clearly and confidently, and demonstrated just how well they had learned their words and songs—everything was truly shipshape!
A big thank you goes to all the pupils and staff for their hard work, and to parents and carers for their continued support in making the event such a success.
Yr. 5 Chemistry Session with Xplore Science
Year. 5 had a fantastic time during their recent chemistry workshop with @XploreScienceUK. The children explored the fascinating world of colour indicators and pH levels, carrying out hands-on investigations and observing how different substances react.
They were fully engaged throughout the session, asking thoughtful questions and showing great curiosity as they developed their scientific understanding. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring their learning to life, and the workshop certainly sparked plenty of excitement about science across the class.
Thanks Kellogg’s
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Kellogg’s for their generous donation of cereal to support our school breakfast
club. Their kindness helps ensure that our pupils can start the day with a healthy meal, ready to learn and thrive.
Kellogg’s has been supporting school breakfast clubs since 1998, helping thousands of schools across the UK. These clubs play an important role in improving attendance and attainment, as well as providing a supportive start to the day for children.
We are very grateful for their support of initiatives like ours, which make a real difference to our school community.
Breakfast Club Reminder
A friendly reminder that our Breakfast Club opens at 8:00am, with breakfast served until 8:30am. The doors will close promptly at 8:40am.
For safeguarding reasons, we kindly ask that parents and carers of Foundation Phase learners accompany their child(ren) to the Breakfast Club entrance to ensure they arrive safely.
Please also note that families with an outstanding balance of more than £20 for Breakfast Club will not be able to access the provision until the balance has been cleared.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support.
Weekly Wellbeing
Celebrated each year on 15th May, the International Day of Families highlights the vital role families play in society. Established by the United Nations in 1994, the day recognises the importance of strong, supportive family relationships in promoting wellbeing, education, and a sense of security for children and adults alike. It also serves as a reminder of the value of spending time together, supporting one another, and building positive connections within our communities.
“Family is where life begins and love never ends—a place of support, belonging, and strength that helps us all to thrive.”

Achievers
There is no Student of the Week this time due to the Reception Class family service; however, we couldn’t resist sharing Megan’s fantastic collection of rosettes from her recent competitions—she is truly becoming quite the equestrian!
