Dear Parents & Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
With two weeks left, we reach that stage where we’re frantically trying to get everything finished. Reports are being prepared, trips are being ticked off and activities are still coming thick and fast. Next Thursday, Years 1/2 and 6 will visit Abergele Adventure Trail and Lazer Quest respectively. This week’s activities are well documented on Twitter, so please take a look there for some lovely snaps.
Gyda phythefnos ar ôl, rydym yn cyrraedd y adeg hynny lle rydym yn ceisio gorffen popeth. Mae adroddiadau’n cael eu paratoi, mae tripiau’n cael eu cynnal ac mae gweithgareddau’n dod un ar ol y llall. Ar Ddydd Iau nesaf, bydd Blwyddyn 2 a 6 yn ymweld â Llwybr Antur Abergele a Lazer Quest yn y drefn honno. Mae gweithgareddau’r wythnos hon wedi’u dogfennu’n dda ar Twitter, felly edrychwch i weld rhai o luniau hyfryd.
Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,
Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher Pennaeth
In Deepest Sympathy – I’m sure you will have heard about the terrible car crash that took place at the end of last week outside Ruthin. We were stunned for the second time this year, with the news that one of our ex-pupils had passed away in tragic circumstances. Olivia Alkir was a wonderful pupil who excelled in everything she did. We send our sincere condolences to Jo and Mesut, our best wishes to all injured in the crash with their recovery and sympathise with all our ex-pupils in Brynhyfryd who knew her so well.
Official Opening – We were honoured to be part of yesterday’s official opening of the new Rhos Street & Pen Barras site. Wales’ First Minister Mark Drakeford attended the ceremony.
Global Café – This child-led environmental global citizenship conference took place yesterday and was a big success. The pupils visited each others’ classes to share activities and their project work. We were also visited by the RLSS for some water safety presentations. Thank you to all the staff and the pupils for their hard work. A total of around £380 has been raised!
Transition – All classes moved up today to get a flavour of what awaits them in September! I hope Year 6 had a great day at Brynhyfryd.
Au Revoir Miss Price – On Monday, Mrs Lewis will return from her maternity leave and we look forward to welcoming her back. We thank Miss Price for her wonderful work with Year 4 and look forward to seeing her again in September, when she and Mrs Lewis will share the responsibility of teaching Year 4.
Musical Showcase – All pupils who receive music lessons have been asked to prepare a short piece to play in a showcase at the end of the school day next Friday. Parents and relatives are invited to join with us at 3.30pm.
