Hydref 7fed / October 7th 2022

Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,

Preparations for our Harvest service are well under way and the school is resounding with the sound of songs and poems being refined and honed. There has been lots going on to keep us out of mischief, Autumn walks around the local area, trips to the living classroom, buddy meetings and the successful launch of our new gardening club.

Parents’ Evening
We are intending to hold our parental consultation, meet the teacher, evenings in the week beginning 17th of October. An appointment time for your face-to-face meeting will be sent home with your child early next week. If you are unable to make your 10-minute appointment please inform your child’s class teacher and we will do our best to reschedule.

Gardening Club
Huge thanks to Ms. Williams, Layla’s mum, for running our gardening club on Wednesday this week. It was the turn of the Yr. 3 children this week and they all had a brilliant time planting in the polytunnel. I can personally vouch for the fact that their wellie-selection skills are, very much on point. The dates for the remaining KS2 classes are as follows:
Yr. 4 Wednesday 12th October
Yr. 5 Wednesday 19th October
Yr. 6 Wednesday 26th November

I will share future gardening-club dates after half term.

Kick-It Sports
I have been in discussions with Kick-It Sports regarding a multi-skills after-school club on Mondays 3:15pm – 4:30pm, beginning on Monday 24th of October. Kick-It Sports will be initially offering the club to the Yrs. 3-6 pupils, with the possibility of offering sessions for Foundation Learners in the future. The 4-week course costs £18, payable directly to Kick-It Sports, when you book through this online booking form: https://bookwhen.com/kickitsports
You can view the activities that are offered by Kick-It Sports and get a flavour of what they do by following this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XVbM9GR2b9bZs6b0w87YeMgs24DUflpQ/view?usp=sharing
Kick-It Sports will supply the appropriate number of coaches, based on the number of bookings received, and will manage the club in school.

Breakfast Club Payment
Just a polite reminder for any parents and carers who use the school’s breakfast club provision that payment needs to be made on ParentPay for the sessions that your child has attended the previous week. Any arrears over £20 may mean that pupils would not be permitted to attend breakfast club until payment had been received. Many thanks for your support.

Harvest Service

We are intending to hold a Harvest service at 10:00am on Tuesday 25th of October at St Peter’s church. Our harvest service, which was a pre-covid annual event, is now back and we are busy practicing as a school our individual class and whole-school items to share. Reverend Natasha will be welcoming us on the 25th to St Peter’s church and parents, carers, family and friends are all welcome to attend.
