Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
As the sunshine continues to brighten our days, there’s a wonderful buzz around school. Pupils are enjoying the warmer weather, and it’s been lovely to see learning taking place both inside and outdoors. Behind the scenes, staff have been working incredibly hard and truly going the extra mile as we prepare for next week’s Estyn inspection. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to providing the very best for our children has been outstanding, and I would like to thank everyone for their continued professionalism and positivity.
Estyn Inspection: Parent and Carer Meeting
As part of our upcoming Estyn inspection, parents and carers are invited to attend a meeting with members of the inspection team.
Date: Monday 27 April 2026
Time: 3:30 pm
Location: Rhos Street School
This meeting provides an important opportunity for parents and carers to speak directly with Estyn inspectors and share their views about the school. We strongly encourage all parents and carers of pupils currently attending the school to take part.
Please note:
• This meeting is for parents and carers only.
• School age children should not attend, as this may be distracting.
• A crèche will be available at school for the duration of the meeting.
The agenda for the meeting will be shared with parents and carers on the evening.
Thank you for your continued engagement and support during this important process.
Year 5 Maths Challenge Success
We are incredibly proud of our amazing Year 5 mathematicians who represented the school so brilliantly at the Maths Challenge at Ruthin School. The pupils approached the challenge with enthusiasm, resilience and excellent teamwork, showcasing their problem‑solving skills and love of maths.
A huge thank you goes to Becky for looking after the children so well and supporting them throughout the day. Experiences like this are invaluable and help inspire confidence and ambition in our learners.
Sponsored Walk Success for Rupert’s Rainbow
We are delighted to share the fantastic success of the parent‑organised sponsored walk in support of Rupert’s Rainbow. Thanks to the incredible effort and generosity of our Year 2 pupils and families, an amazing £780 was raised.
This is a wonderful achievement for such a meaningful and worthwhile cause, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who took part, supported, and donated. Events like this truly show the strength of our school community and the positive impact we can have when we work together.
Well done to all involved – you should be very proud!
Weekly Wellbeing
This week’s quote is from Albert Einstein (1879–1955), the world‑famous scientist best known for his curiosity, creativity and perseverance. As a child, he struggled in school and took longer than others to find his way, but he believed strongly in not giving up when things are difficult. Einstein’s life reminds us that resilience, patience and persistence are just as important as talent.
“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”
— Albert Einstein
Achievers
This week’s amazing achievers are: Brodie, Penelope, Kalani, Sebastian, Ollie, Archie, Caleb, Willow, and Nancy.
