Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
As another busy week comes to an end, it has been fantastic to see so much happening across the school. From exciting learning in the classroom to pupils taking part in cross-country events, there have been plenty of opportunities for children to challenge themselves and shine.
We are incredibly proud of all our pupils, who continue to approach school life with enthusiasm, resilience and kindness. It is always a pleasure to see them representing the school so positively, both in lessons and at events beyond the classroom.
Thank you for your continued support. We hope you enjoy reading about some of this week's highlights and wish everyone a happy and restful weekend.
Photography and Video Consent Form – Gentle Reminder
Last week we sent home an updated Photography and Video Consent Form. The form allows parents and carers to tell us how photographs and videos of their child may be used by the school.
We use images to celebrate learning, share achievements and keep families informed about school life. The form asks for your permission in relation to:
• School newsletters shared with parents, carers and governors.
• Google Classroom and other secure educational learning platforms.
• Displays within school.
• External media and press coverage.
• Video recordings of school events, such as concerts, performances and assemblies.
Please note that consent is not required for certain internal school purposes, including pupil identification, safeguarding, welfare, assessment, and evidencing educational progress and development. These uses are covered by the school's legal responsibilities and are explained in our Privacy Notice.
A few important points:
• Please complete one form per child.
• The form will remain valid until it is updated or withdrawn.
• You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the school.
• We will not publish pupils' full names alongside photographs or videos.
We would be grateful if completed forms could be returned to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible. Thank you for your support in helping us celebrate and share the many achievements and experiences of our pupils.
Vale of Clwyd Cross Country Success
Well done to all of our pupils who took part in the Vale of Clwyd Cross Country event on Wednesday. The children represented the school brilliantly, demonstrating fantastic resilience, determination, and effort throughout the afternoon.
Cross-country is a demanding event that requires not only physical stamina but also perseverance and a positive attitude, and every pupil should be extremely proud of their achievement. It was wonderful to see our runners encouraging one another, showing excellent sportsmanship, and giving their very best right to the finish line.
A big thank you must also go to the parents and family members who came along to support the runners. Your encouragement and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated and helped make the event such a positive experience for the children.
A special congratulations to Thea and Raph, who both received medals in their respective races. This is a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved reward for their hard work and commitment.
We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part. They were excellent ambassadors for our school and showcased our values of teamwork, resilience, and determination. Well done, everyone!
Silver Cymraeg Campus Award
We are delighted to announce that our school has been awarded the Silver Cymraeg Campus Award in recognition of our commitment to promoting the Welsh language and creating a strong Welsh ethos throughout the school community.
This achievement reflects the hard work and enthusiasm of our pupils, staff, governors and families in embracing and celebrating the Welsh language in everyday school life.
A special thank you must go to Mrs Lewis, whose dedication, leadership and hard work have been instrumental in helping us achieve this award. Her passion for developing Welsh language opportunities across the school has made a significant difference and we are extremely grateful for her efforts. Da iawn to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement!
Weekly Wellbeing
This week’s quote is from Confucius, the Chinese philosopher and teacher who lived over 2,500 years ago. His wisdom continues to inspire people around the world. This quote reminds us that resilience is about keeping going, even when progress feels slow, and never giving up on our goals. It points to the fact that every small step forward is an achievement. Keep trying, keep learning, and keep believing in yourself!
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”
- Confucius
