Dear Parents and Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
Welcome back, everyone!
We hope you all enjoyed a restful and refreshing half‑term break. It’s been lovely to see the children return full of energy and enthusiasm for the busy half‑term ahead.
It’s certainly been a lively first week back in school. We’ve been hosting interviews and carrying out lesson observations as we look to appoint for the Year 6 maternity post. Our Police Liaison Officer, PC Craig, has also been in to deliver his valuable sessions with classes across the school. Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic Art and Technology transition morning, getting a taste of the exciting opportunities that await them as they move through their learning journey. We also welcomed families into school for the Year 3 Family Service, which was a wonderful celebration of pupils’ hard work and creativity.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We’re looking forward to a positive and productive rest of the term together!
Rhos St’s Got Talent – Dress Rehearsals and Finals Ahead!
There’s a real sense of excitement building in school as we prepare for Rhos St’s Got Talent 2026! Pupils have been practising their acts with great enthusiasm, and we’re looking forward to seeing the range of amazing talent they’ve been developing.
Dress rehearsals will take place on Tuesday, 10th March, giving all performers the opportunity to run through their routines, polish their performances, and feel confident ahead of the big day.
The highlight of the event will be the Grand Final on Thursday, 12th March. This will be a special in‑school showcase, enjoyed by pupils and staff.
We’re incredibly proud of all the children who have put themselves forward and shown such creativity, commitment, and courage. It promises to be a wonderful celebration of the fantastic talents within our school community.
Good luck to all our performers—Rhos St really has got talent!
Police Liaison Visit – Learning About Staying Safe
Today we were pleased to welcome our Police Liaison Officer, PC Craig, to Rhos St. He spent the day working with pupils in Years 1, 2, 3, and 4, delivering important sessions to help children learn about staying safe, making good choices, and understanding how the police support our community.
The children engaged brilliantly, asking thoughtful questions and taking part in the activities with enthusiasm. These sessions are a valuable part of our personal and social education programme, helping pupils to grow in confidence and awareness.
We’d like to thank PC Craig for his time and for the positive, informative way he works with our learners.
Year 3 Family Service – A Brilliant Celebration of Inventors and Resilience
Yesterday, our Year 3 pupils delivered a truly brilliant Family Service, all themed around inventors, inventions, and the power of resilience. The children explored how great ideas are created, how perseverance leads to success, and how creativity shapes the world around us.
The service also showcased the class’s recent work as forensic scientists, sharing the fascinating investigations and hands‑on learning they’ve enjoyed over the past few weeks. It was wonderful to see how confidently they explained their work and demonstrated the skills they’ve developed.
The performance was filled with lovely songs, expressive acting, and plenty of enthusiasm. Pupils spoke clearly, worked beautifully as a team, and taught us all something new along the way.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all parents, carers, family, and friends who attended. Your support means so much to the children, and it was wonderful to have you with us to celebrate their hard work and achievements.
A huge well done to Year 3 and the staff who supported them—their effort, creativity, and excitement for learning really shone through.
Parental Consultations – 23rd to 26th March
Our Spring Term Parental Consultations will take place from Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th March. These meetings are an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their achievements, and look ahead to their next steps in learning.
A slip confirming your child’s allocated date and time will be sent home next week. Please check bags carefully and keep the appointment information safe.
If you are unable to attend the time you are given, please let us know as soon as possible. We will do our very best to arrange an alternative appointment that works for you. Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to meeting with you all.
Year 6 Parent/Carer Survey Opportunity: North Wales Police Youth Safety Survey
North Wales Police are currently updating their Serious Violence Strategic Needs Assessment, and they are asking young people across the region to share their views.
As part of this work, they are inviting children and young people aged 11–25 to take part in a short online survey about their perceptions and experiences of safety and violence in their communities.
The original survey, completed in early 2024, helped build a picture of how young people understand and experience violence. This refreshed survey will ensure that the latest voices and experiences are included in this year’s analysis.
If parents or carers wish their Year 6 child to take part, the survey can be completed at home using the link below:

Exciting Staffing News for Year 6
We are delighted to share some wonderful news regarding our Year 6 team for the summer term.
As many of you will know, Mrs. Alana Price will be beginning her maternity leave at the end of this term. We wish her all the very best as she prepares for this exciting new chapter.
Following a thorough and competitive recruitment process, we are thrilled to announce that Miss Lauryn Cole has been appointed as our new Year 6 teacher from after the Easter break.
Miss Cole impressed the panel with her enthusiasm, expertise, and passion for teaching. She brings a wealth of energy and commitment, and we are confident she will be a fantastic addition to our school community. We are very much looking forward to welcoming her to the team and are excited for the positive impact she will have on our Year 6 pupils as they prepare for their final term with us. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Weekly Wellbeing
The forthcoming St David’s Day reminds us not only to do the little things, but to cherish our cynefin — the places, people and stories that shape who we are. When children feel rooted in their cynefin, they grow in confidence, belonging and pride in their Welsh identity.
