Dear Parents & Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
At the start of the year, we select our pupil groups to represent the children in different areas. Photos of School Councillors, Eco Councillors, our Criw Cymraeg and PPTFA Reps will be on twitter before the afternoon is out. I hope they gain pride from their work in the respective groups. Pupil Voice grows ever louder!!!

Ar ddechrau’r flwyddyn, rydym yn dewis ein grwpiau disgyblion i gynrychioli’r plant mewn gwahanol ardaloedd. Bydd lluniau o Gynghorwyr Ysgol, Cynghorwyr Eco, ein Criw Cymraeg a Chynrychiolwyr PPTFA ar twitter cyn i’r prynhawn orffen. Rwy’n gobeithio y byddant yn ennill balchder o’u gwaith yn y gwahanol grwpiau. Mae Llais y Plentyn i’w glywed yn uwch ac yn uwch!!!

Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,

Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth

Frogspotting – The Year 6 children were jumping for joy when they went hunting for wildlife on the school field. Their efforts were rewarded with 10 frogs, who were all carefully transported back to the tank in the year 6 classroom. The children had a fantastic time studying the frogs up close. Tilly, Ffion and Lily helped Mr Davis return them safely to their habitat at the end of the day.

Urdd Membership – It is that time of year again to join the Urdd and there will be lots going on. Forthcoming events include the girls’ and boys’ football tournaments. Mrs Lewis has already started working with the creative dancers for the Eisteddfod and there will be all manner of other competitions in that Eisteddfod, which of course is held in Denbighshire for the national event. Next week I will send out a pro-forma so that we can add all interested pupils names to parent pay in order to pay for the subscription.

Urdd Girls’ Football – The girls are sorted on parent pay and they will take part on October 2nd.

PTA – Thank you to those who attended. It was great to see such enthusiasm and ideas from all concerned. Lucy Purvis will once again Chair the PTA this year, with Emma Phipps Vice-Chair, Julie Brixey secretary and Jenny Johnson treasurer. They have lots of exciting things organized. The Halloween Disco will be held on October 18th.

Achievers – Students of the week were Charlea, Lola, Mia-Rose, Liam, Meredith, Mia, Ethan, Kian, Illy and Ffion. Swimming certificates went to Lilly and Emi-lee, Dance certificates went to Charlotte, Isabelle and Lilly and an X-ray certificate to Cadie. Donkey Derby rosettes also went to Lily and Emi-lee.

Wasp – Thank you for your co-operation, as we dealt with our little wasp problem. They certainly met their match when the pest controller visited.

Space Race – Our latest Space Racers were rewarded in today’s assembly. Well done! Keep them coming – there’s still time to finish the challenge.

Pokemon – Pokemon cards are great fun, as are football cards. They have no place in school however as it always leads to problems. Please do not allow your child to bring them in. If you find some Pokemon cards that are not your child’s, please bring them to the office. Many thanks.

Rugby World Cup Themed Lunch – See twitter for details of a Rugby World Cup lunch next Wednesday in the canteen.

Art Club – Elizabeth Jones, aka Elfin Bow isn’t able to commit the time to continue Art Club this year, which is a shame as it was always a great addition to our clubs. However, a colleague of hers, Honor Pedican has agreed to pick up the baton and details are on twitter and emailed to all families. Please return the proforma to claim your place.

Living Classroom – The first visit to the Living Classroom by Year 5, involved a litter pick and collecting the bounty that harvest brings, including apples, nuts and berries. See twitter for more photos later.

After School Clubs – Clubs are as follows:
Monday – Art (from Sept 30th)
Tuesday – Go Ride Cycling
Wednesday – Dance
Thursday – Football
Friday – Netball

Details of lunchtime clubs will go out next week.

Flu Immunisation Consent Forms – Please return these at your earliest convenience. Many thanks.

Dance Club – Mrs Lewis has already got the dancers well drilled and they are planning the creative dance entry in next year’s Eisteddfod.

NSPCC Sessions – The parental and pupils session certainly sent some clear messages on how pupils and parents can help children stay safe from the dangers of abuse. Thank you to parents for supporting our internet safety session.
