June 21st 2019 Mehefin 21ain

Dear Parents & Carers / Annwyl Rieni a Gwarchodwyr,
We’re looking forward to tonight’s Summer Fair. Thank you for the chocolate donations on our own clothes day. I hope the weather holds. With thunderstorms forecast for Monday plus overnight rain, it’s not looking great for our Sports Day. We’ve decided not to hold the event on Monday and try for Tuesday, hoping the wet weather will have passed and the field will have dried. As ever, I’ll try and keep you updated.

Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at y Ffair Haf heno. Diolch am y rhoddion siocled ar ein diwrnod dillad di-wisg. Gobeithio y bydd y tywydd yn dal. Gyda rhagolwg taranau ar gyfer dydd Llun a glaw dros nos, nid yw’n edrych yn dda ar gyfer ein Mabolgampau. Rydym wedi penderfynu peidio â chynnal y digwyddiad ddydd Llun a cheisio eto dydd Mawrth, gan obeithio y bydd y tywydd gwlyb wedi mynd heibio a bydd y cae wedi sychu. Fel arfer, byddaf yn ceisio eich diweddaru.

Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,

Bryn D. Jones, Headteacher / Pennaeth

Reception Family Service – We were treated to a fabulous pirate themed service by our Reception pupils, which went down a storm with pupils, parents, relatives and staff. Thank you to Mrs Bourne and staff for their work.

Scarecrow Competition – Our involvement in Ruthin Forward’s Scarecrow Competition has been very successful. Mary Poppins has not only been shortlisted as one of the best scarecrows by the Mayor, but also finished 2nd in the public vote! We greatly enjoyed producing scarecrows in the Juniors & Giggles.

PC Llinos – PC Llinos’ recent visits to school have been very well received and are documented on our Twitter feed.

Ruthin Town Football – Congratulations to Year 3 and 4 for their victory in this competition. The Year 5 and 6 boys also performed admirably in reaching the final. A special mention also for the girls’ team who gave some wonderful gutsy performances and never gave up.

Manchester Trip – Now that the trip has come to an end we can reflect on its success. The children were a pleasure to take away and they did us proud. Thank you to Mr Davis, Eira and Leanne for their fantastic care of the pupils and to Gwyn the driver for navigating us so safely.

Year 2 Transition – I think staff, pupils and parents enjoyed the Year 2 Transition Session this morning. Thank you for attending.
